Anxiety raised over Peter Rufai’s health status

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai

There is palpable fear over the health of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai who was said to have slumped while at work on Monday evening

This is coming barely a week after the death of his mother.

Rufai has been reported to have slumped but is now recuperating at a hospital in Lagos.

The cause of the slump has not been ascertained as at the time of writing this report but sources hinted it may be connected with the recent demise of his mother whom the former goalkeeper was said to have been very close to.

Our source learnt that the goalkeeper fondly called ‘Dodo Mayana’ became unconscious at his office and was then rushed to a hospital in Surulere in Lagos though no official statement has been released by any member of the family.

He was Eagles' first choice between the sticks at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States and four years later in France.

His last known work was when he was being the team coordinator of Nigeria's U-23 Olympic team last year alongside his pet project of holding soccer clinics for young children.
