Ex-Akwa Ibom gov’s wife dies at 72

 Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, has lost his wife, Nneyin.


The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Attah’s wife died on Monday aged 72 at the family’s Lekki, Lagos residence.

Quoting the family’s spokesman, Mr. Dele Sobowale, the report said Nneyin died during an undisclosed illness.

“The woman died on Monday at their residence in Lekki, Lagos during a protracted illness.

“Mrs. Attah was of Bahamas nationality, the death is another national loss,” Sobowale said.

The spokesman, who is the former governor’s media consultant, said burial arrangements would be announced later.

Nneyin is survived by her husband and two children.
