The second edition of the Victor Okhai-led In-Short International Film Festival 2012 was recently concluded with winners emerging in various categories.
The film festival held at the Silverbird Galleria, Nigeria Film Corporation office, Lagos and The City Mall, Onikan, Lagos from Thursday 11 to Saturday October 13, 2012. The festival also included workshops and seminars to teach film techniques to participants as well as the public.
At the end of the festival, the jury announced the winners, and also introduced a ‘Jury Award’, which according to the jury chair, Shaibu Husseini, was to acknowledge impact and achievements.
“Significantly, in addition to the publicised competitive categories, the Jury unanimously decided this year to give a “Jury Award” to a film, which in our view deserves a special acknowledgement for its impact and achievements above and beyond the individual technical categories”. He said It was indeed an interesting evening, as the winners emerged with National Cake scooping three awards and Big Daddy winning best edited film and jury prize. Akintayo Akin Lewis won best actor for the film National cake.
