Victor Moses

Nigeria forward, Victor Moses put in an impressive display for Chelsea in a thrilling 5-4 win over Manchester United in the 4th round of the Capital one Cup in England.

The Blues had to dig deep before prevailing over their bitter rivals after extra time.

Moses won a penalty on the half hour after he was upended in the box by United’s Alex Buttner and Brazilian defender, David Luiz promptly converted to temporarily peg the scores at 1-1 after United had taken the lead moments earlier through Ryan Giggs.

The 21-year-old worried United all night with his pace and penetration and came close to scoring severally most notably in the second half of added time when he was denied by the United keeper, Anders Lidegaard.

Moses had scored one goal for Chelsea in the previous round of the competition and Chelsea will now meet Leeds United in the quarterfinals of the competition at Elland Road.

Chelsea’s other Nigerian, John Mikel Obi also started for the Blues but was substituted shortly after the restart.
