Disguised sachet water sellers popularly called‘pure water’ operating in Warri metropolis and Asaba, Delta State, are currently robbing unsuspecting market women including their customers of their hard earned money.
Reports said the sachet water sellers, many of whom were male teenagers, had allegedly been used by robbery gang as baits to rob people.
Their modus operandi, our source checks revealed, is to woo unsuspecting customers into buying sachet water from them while they hawk at various market square where they carried out survey of the type of their businesses before reporting to their sponsors.
In Warri, Asaba, at present, recruited teenage sachet water hawkers under the pretext of holidaying to source for funds to buy Christmas/New Year clothes are seen in various streets shouting themselves hoarse for sale of their sachet water product(s), while many of them troop into the market for targeted customers.
