The Nigerian ambassador to Congo-Brazzaville, Princess Victoria Onipede, has lost her husband, Chief Abraham Onipede.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued on Thursday by a spokesperson of the family, Mrs Olayinka Onipede, in Ikole, Ekiti.
According to the statement, the deceased who would have been 81 in May, died on Jan 19, at his residence in Oke-Ayedun, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
According to the statement, late Onipede who was the Balogun of Ayedun Ekiti died following a prolonged cancer-related illness.
“Baba has been battling with cancer and has been on admission at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, before he requested that he be discharged and taken home.
“Baba finally gave up the ghost on Sunday morning,” the statement said.
The deceased was survived by two wives and 10 children, including Amb. Jolaade Onipede.
