Watching some Nollywood films, one is bound to see repetition of some shots either in various scenes or in different movies and
to fans that are familiar with these places; they are left with no choice but
to ask questions.
Watching like 10 movies produced in Lagos for example, the
Lekki-Ikoyi Suspension Bridge is a part that will sure appear in the movie at
various points which ends up showing that the movie director is not creative
enough.
Popular movie critique, Charles Novia, will not keep silent
on this as he brought it out to light to show how lazy some movie directors can
be as they keep showing same location in different movies.
In his words, “The Lekki-Ikoyi Suspension Bridge has
recently become the most popular 'actor' on Nigerian screens. Everyone takes
shots of it in movies. The second popular recent 'actor' would be the Oriental
Hotel/Civic Centre nexus. Every film director takes establish shots of those
too.”
